Bodensee
(Sung text for setting by J. Weismann)
 See base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Dörfer sind wie ein Garten
In Türmen von seltsamen Arten
klingen die Glocken wie weh,
Uferschlösser warten
und schauen durch schwarzen Scharten
müd auf den Mittagssee.
Und schwellende Wellchen spielen
und goldene Dampfer kielen
leise den lichten lauf,
fern hinter den Uferzielen
tauchen die vielen, vielen
Silberberge auf.

Composition:

Set to music by Julius Weismann (1879 - 1950), "Bodensee"

Text Authorship:

  • by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926), "Bodensee", appears in Advent, in Fahrten, no. 5
