Frühe Klage
 (Sung text for setting by R. Franz)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Aus der Ferne schallen Gesänge,
   Froh von zitternder Luft gewiegt;

Titled "Frühe Klage" in the 1873 edition.

    Set to music by Robert Franz (1815 - 1892), "Frühe Klage", op. 22 (Sechs Gesänge) no. 4, published 1855 [ voice and piano ], Leipzig, Senff

Text Authorship:

  • by (Karl) Wilhelm Osterwald (1820 - 1887), "Vorbei!", appears in Gedichte, in 1. Erstes Buch: Lieder, no. 78, first published 1848
