Wie schön singt jener, der das alles weiß, von jener einzigen, um die's ihm leid war, die für ihn auch zu sterben noch bereit war für den von Anfang ausgemachten Preis! Wie streng er prüfte, ob sie ihn auch liebte! Ausdrücklich heißt's, er hab' ihr Pein bereitet. Sechs waren schon geprüft und erst die siebte vergoß die Tränen, als sie ihn verlor. Doch wie belohnte er sie auch, doch wie belohnte er sie auch! Beneidet von allen hob er sie zum Schluß zu sich empor.
