Der Sonntag ist gekommen,
Ein Sträußchen auf dem Hut;
Sein Aug ist mild und heiter,
Er meint's mit allen gut.
Er steiget auf die Berge,
Er wandelt durch das Tal,
Er ladet zum Gebete
Die Menschen allzumal.
Und wie in schönen Kleidern
Nun pranget jung und alt,
Hat er für sie geschmücket
Die Fluren und den Wald.
Und wie er allen Freude
Und Friede bringt und Ruh,
So ruf' nun du auch jedem
"Gott grüß dich" freundlich zu.

Son œil est doux et gai,
Il est plein de bonnes intentions.
Il grimpe sur les montagnes,
Il se promène dans les vallées,
Il invite à prier
Les gens partout.
Et comme dans de beaux habits
Maintenant font parade jeunes et vieux,
Il a décoré pour eux
Les prairies et les forêts.
Et comme à tous joie
Et paix et repos il apporte,
Aussi maintenant tu entonnes un
« Dieu vous bénisse » amicalement.
