Du sidder i Baaden, som svømmer
 (Sung text for setting by E. Sjögren)
 See original
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Du sidder i Baaden, som svømmer,
  sænket i Bølgens Musik;
  dine dejlige Øjne drømmer,
  mod Skyerne vendt dit Blik.
  Mod Aftenens taarnede Skyer
  stiger dit Hjertes Begær;
  de vinker saa lokkende nær,
  de daler, letter og flyer.

Men disse taarnede Skyer,
  som gløder i Purpurskær,
  som vinker og, vinkende, flyer
  og synes dog stedse nær,
  de staar som et Billed paa Sorgen,
  et Spejl paa forgængelig Lyst;
  de fylder med Solskin dit Bryst --
  og bliver til Regnvejr imorgen.
