There are the last days in the year for me:
The asters are blooming in the flowerbeds,
The air is as quiet as a church, and blue and clear
And utterly full of the scent of the mignonettes.
No bird-call penetrates the sunshine
But the cicadas chirp incessantly, --
Accompanied by their singing I shall someday
After long years enter into the mercies of Heaven.
