In welche soll ich mich verlieben?
(Sung text for setting by R. Farber)
 Matches original text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
In welche soll ich mich verlieben,
Da beide liebenswürdig sind?
Ein schönes Weib ist noch die Mutter,
Die Tochter ist ein schönes Kind.

Die weißen, unerfahrnen Glieder,
Sie sind so rührend anzusehn!
Doch reizend sind geniale Augen,
Die unsre Zärtlichkeit verstehn.

Es gleicht mein Herz dem grauen Freunde,
Der zwischen zwei Gebündel Heu
Nachsinnlich grübelt, welch' von beiden
Das allerbeste Futter sei.

Composition:

Set to music by Richard Farber (b. 1945), "In welche soll ich mich verlieben?", 2008 [ voice and piano ], from Yolante und Marie, no. 2

Text Authorship:
