Mein Herz ist wie der Himmel
 (Sung text for setting by A. Wallnöfer)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mein Herz ist wie der Himmel
So sternenklar,
So blütenvoll als nimmer
Ein Frühling war;
So sangvoll und so klangvoll,
Als ob der Mai
Mit allen Nachigallen
Darinnen sei!

 ...

So friedvoll und so stille
Wie's Paradies,
Eh's noch der Unschuld
Engel weinend verließ;
Und kühn kann's fliegen,
Dem Adler gleich,
Der über Wolken schwebet
Ins Sonnenreich.

Mein Herz ist, lächle, lächle,
Geliebtes Kind!
Voll Übermut, wie alle
Verliebte sind.
Und wenn zu stolzen Bildern
Es sich vermisst,
So will's doch nur dir sagen,
Wie's selig ist.
