Hinaus ins ferne Morgenland,

 (Sung text translation for setting by C. Banck)
 See original
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
O liefde, die aan ’t kruishout leed,
O liefde, die de dood bestreed
Voor alle mensenkind’ren,
Gedenk in deze zaal’ge nacht,
Die u naar ons toe heeft gebracht,
De zielen die u missen!

O liefde, die de ster uitzond
Naar ’t verre land der morgenstond,
Om koningen te roepen;
Die van zichzelf door eng’lenmond
De arme herders luid deed kond,
Hoe ben je stil geworden?
