Nun ist es stiller Abend wieder;
Den Tag singt Glockenklang zu Grab;
Die Sonne sank im Westen nieder,
Und linde Dämmrung steigt herab.

Mir ist, ich hört' wie Schlaf und Träume
Die Schöpfung küßten neben mir;
Es weht ein Hauch durch Flur und Bäume
Und lispelt: "Friede sei mit dir!"
