Nu tier vel dagens stemmer, og jorden sin smerte vel glemmer. Hvor verden er øde og stor og forladt - Sylvesternat! Det pusler om grantræets rødder, det tripper med tuden små fødder. Det ånder så tungt gjennem skog og krat Sylvesternat. Det skraber så skarpt på min rude, der tuder en hund langt ude. Og stjerneskud tændes og slukkes brat Sylvesternat.
