Gamle Anders Røgters Sang
 (Sung text for setting by C. Nielsen)
 See original
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  FRE
Der staar en Purle ved Vejens Sving,
en Egeknast saa Forkrampet;
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

Ja Livets lovende Førsteknop
den ødtes grumt for de fleste;
thi raged ogsaa en enkelt op
med Jærn i Veddet, med Frugt i Top,
det blev dog kun Purl det meste.
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

 ...

Det Barn, som vaagner af drømfyldt Blund,
den hele Sol vil han kræve;
men lad ham først kjæmpe en Livsens Stund,
da vil for at vinde en Straale kun
hans tryglende Læber bæve.
   For vi træder hverandre i Dyndet ned.

Car nous marchons ensemble dans la fange
 (Sung text translation for setting by C. Nielsen)
 See original
c'est un chêne noueux tout rabougri ;

furent pour la plupart férocement détruits ;

veut exiger le soleil tout entier ;

Note: the text above is taken from stanzas 1-2,4 of the original text.
