Höchste Liebe du, 
Sprich selbst dein 'Ja' dazu, 
Sprich in ihr Herz dein Amen! 
Nimm sie in deine fromme Hut, 
Gib Frieden, Freude, guten Mut! 
In deine Hände, Herr, Herr, zeichne diese Namen!  --  

Genug!  Zur Stunde fällt ihr Los, 
Es fällt und liegt in Gottes Schoß.

Let, like the smoke of an offering,
Sweetly in the breath of morning,
Let the songs rise up,
That to our blissful petitioning
Those who stand at the gateway on high,
The watchmen, propitiously incline their ears!

Thou highest love,
Speak Thy 'Yea' to our petition,
Speak Thy Amen into their hearts!
Take them into Thy divine protection,
Grant peace, happiness, good courage!
Into Thy hands, Lord, Lord, inscribe  these names! --

Enough! Their lot is cast at this hour,
It is cast and lies in the lap of God.
