Gros rat ! énorme rat ! ne ronge pas tout mon grain, rat cruel et dévorateur ! Depuis trois ans je subis la férocité de tes dents aiguës, et j'ai vainement tenté de t'adoucir par des supplications. Mais enfin je partirai, et je te fuirai, et j'irai me bâtir une maison dans un pays lointain. Dans un pays lointain et heureux, où les remords ne sont pas éternels !
