Glocken
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Die Glocken wandern durch das Tal,
Mein Herz fliegt mit ein jedes Mal.

Sie ziehn dorfaus, bergan, waldein,
Mein töricht Herz geht hinterdrein

Nun singt ein Klang am Firnjoch schon
Und taucht ins Blau und zieht davon.

Verlorne Fernen fassen ihn.
Mein Herz irrt mit, weiß Gott wohin.

Confirmed with Gedichte von Ernst Zahn, Stuttgart & Leipzig: Deutsche Verlags-Anstalt, 1910, page 91.

Bells
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
The sound of the bells wanders through the valley,
My heart flies along with it every time.

The sound travels out of the village, up the mountain, into the forest,
My foolish heart runs along after it.

Now a sound is already singing in the Firnjoch [a mountain]
And it plunges into the blue and vanishes.

It is swallowed up by the irrecoverable distance.
My heart strays along with it, God knows whither.
