by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Frühlingsabend
Language: German (Deutsch)
Heißer hab' ich's nie empfunden
Jenes tiefe, stumme Glüh'n,
Das mich bannt zu allen Stunden
An dein Schweigen und dein Blüh'n -

Als in diesen linden Tagen,
Wo der erste Lenz schon keimt,
Schon voll Glut und noch voll Zagen -
Lug' – wie sich der Himmel säumt!

Purpurn glüh'n die Bergesklippen
Und dann dämmert's, stumm und sacht - -
So, an deinen Purpurlippen,
Möcht' ich warten – auf die Nacht!
