Matinal
Language: Catalan (Català)
Quins matins de primavera,
quin hermós començar el jorn!
Passeig amunt, acostant-me,
ja t’obiro en el balcó.
Te conec pel vestit negre,
te conec pel cabell ros,
per lo de nena primeta,
per lo gentilment que et mous
quan, per mor de sol, airosa
duus estesa la mà al front,
repenjant-te en la barana per
veure’m venir millor.
Jo m’acosto amb mitja rialla,
somrienta tu em respons,
ja t’he vist... passo, i m’emporto
benestar per tot el jorn.

Matutinal
Language: English  after the Catalan (Català)
What spring mornings,
what a beautiful start of the day!
Up the lane, approaching,
I already spot you on the balcony.
I recognize you by the black dress,
I recognize you by the blond hair,
by your slender figure of little girl,
by the grace with which you move,
when, because of the sun, gracile,
you have your extended hand at the forehead,
leaning on the railing
to see me better.
I get closer, half-laughing,
you answer me smiling,
I have seen you… I go past, and take with me
wellbeing for the whole day.
