Colliu la rosa de dia i de nit el gessamí; el gessamí en una tanca, la rosa al mig del jardí. Lleument, dolçament gronxada, la rosa mor en un sí; el gessamí, quan l’amada s’ajeu, pàl.lida, a dormir, el té viu, sense saber-ho, dins el seu cabell diví. La rosa fa enamorar-se i el gessamí defallir.
