Colliu la rosa de dia
i de nit el gessamí;
el gessamí en una tanca,
la rosa al mig del jardí.
Lleument, dolçament gronxada,
la rosa mor en un sí;
el gessamí, quan l’amada
s’ajeu, pàl.lida, a dormir,
el té viu, sense saber-ho,
dins el seu cabell diví.
La rosa fa enamorar-se
i el gessamí defallir.

The jasmine and the rose
Language: English after the Catalan (Català)
Pluck the rose during the day
and the jasmine at night;
the jasmine at the hedge,
the rose in the middle of the garden.
Delicately, softly swayed,
the rose dies in a bosom;
the jasmine, when the beloved
lies down, pale, to sleep,
has it lively, without knowing,
in its divine hair.
The rose causes to fall in love
and the jasmine to lose spirit.
