Viens, je te mettrai des boucles d’oreilles
                       de cerises
et je te montrerai les longues treilles
où volent des merles bleus et des grives.
Viens, c’est la saison des grandes chaleurs
                       et des fleurs.
Sur les fossés poudreux les carottes blanches
poussent : il y a encor deux ou trois pervenches.
Dans le fond des bois frais les oiseaux crient.
                       Le ciel cuit.
Dans les mares il y a des joncs longs,
et les grenouilles grises font des bonds.
Dans les endroits chauds et frais, vois les sources
                       qui sont douces.
Dans le terrain rouge, ou bien sur la mousse,
elles coulent près des abeilles rousses.
