„Ich gehe“, nichts weiter sagte ich, da mir der Schmerz
das Leben hat gerissen aus dem Herz.
Chloris brach darauf in Tränen aus und klagte.
Die Stimme stockt’ ihr, als sie sagte:
„So bleib’ ich denn mit meinem Schmerz allein.
Ach, ich werd’ nur noch
schmachten und am Klagen sein!“
Ich war tot, nun leb’ ich wieder: Mein Geist, den ich schon aufgegeben,
kehrte bei solch erbarmenswerten Worten rasch zurück ins Leben.
