Friedens‑Weihnachten

Der Weihnachtsengel schwebt ins Zimmer,
Leise, ganz leis,
Es strahlt um ihn ein heller Schimmer
In Nacht und Eis.
Er weht um die Kerzen. Er weht um den Baum.
Es träumen die Kinder den Weihnachtstraum.
Der Weihnachtsengel prüft die Gaben
Kinderlein seht!
Und wer soll diesen Helm da haben,
der blinkend steht?
Er ist für den jüngsten Knaben im Haus
Der Himmlische zieht seine Stirne kraus
Der Weihnachtsengel probt zum Scherze
eben den Helm.
Der blitzt noch kurz in Glanz der Kerze
Dann lacht der Schelm 
und spricht: "Von allen diesen Gaben
den Helm soll Michel nie mehr haben!"
