Mon Dieu! si non, je meurs!

Et toi qui fuis la terre,
Petit oiseau béni!
Peut-être à ma chaumière
Tu suspendras ton nid!
C’est là que mon vieux père
Passe les jours en pleurs!
Dis à mon pauvre Pierre
Que loin de lui je meurs!

This cruel absence
Which causes me to weep,
