Su'l mar la navicella
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Available translation(s): ENG GER
Su'l mar la navicella,
vaga conchiglia nera,
fuggía, leggera e snella,
per la tranquilla sera.
parea, come sospinta
da l'ala de'l disío,
e l'anima era vinta
da un infinito oblío.
Su'l nostro capo'l volo de li alcioni
e l'aleggiar de le brezze serene;
e mormoravan languide canzoni,
a' flutti in sen, fantastiche sirene.
Più vivo, in ogni stella,
c'era un folgore arcano:
fuggía la navicella,
su'l mar, lontan, lontano...

Wie eine schwarze Muschel
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Italian (Italiano)
Wie eine schwarze Muschel
glitt das Boot übers Meer,
leicht entfloh es und schlank
durch den ruhigen Abend.
Es schien wie angetrieben
vom Flügel des Verlangens,
und die Seele war besiegt
von endlosem Vergessen...
Über unsrem Haupt der Flug der Möwen,
und der Lufthauch einer leichten Brise,
traumhafte Sirenen murmeln schmachtende
Lieder zu den Wellen in der Bucht...
Heller von jedem Stern
blitzte ein mystischer Strahl:
Das Schiffchen entfloh übers Meer,
ferner und ferner.
