ou de les souffrir, ou de les fuir, ou de toujours se taire
Mais pourquoi se plaindre quand une inconstante
nous méprise et nous abandonne ? Ah, retenez votre rage,
calmez-vous, amant téméraire; ah, souffrez et taisez-vous ;
et si vous voulez punir la dame inconstante,
punissez-la avec des cadeaux,
châtiez-la avec des baisers.
