by Johann Heinrich Voss (1751 - 1826)

Grüne Dämmerung des Haines
Language: German (Deutsch)
Grüne Dämmerung des Haines
Schattet [uns]1 umwebend.
Sanfter Glanz des Sonnenscheines
Blinkt durch Laub, es blinkt des Weines
Glanz entgegen bebend.

Heitres Auges ruhn wir alle
Unter blauem Himmel.
Hell erklingen uns Krystalle,
Mit Gesang' und Vogelschalle,
Durch das Laubgewimmel.

Mägdlein, frischer heut' und röther,
Schaffen Reiz dem Feste:
Sonnenhell der Augen Äther,
Schalten sie, wie leichtgewehter
Blumenduft im Weste.

Schmachtend singt aus jungen Sprossen
Philomel'; o höret!
"Bald ist unsre Zeit verflossen!
Liebt und freut euch, o Genossen,
Weil der Frühling währet!"
