Und flog auf ihren Schooß,
Und zupft' ihr, um nicht laß zu seyn,
Die Busenschleifen los.
Und flog, mit gaukelhaftem Flug,
Dann auf die weiße Hand,
Dann wieder auf das Busentuch,
Und pickt' am rothen Band.

Dann schwebt' ich auf ihr blondes Haar,
Und zwitscherte vor Lust,
Und ruhte, wann ich müde war,
An ihrer weißen Brust.
Kein Veilchenbett' im Paradies
Geht diesem Lager vor.
Wie schlief sichs da so süß, so süß,
[Auf]2 ihres Busens Flor!

Sie spielte, wie ich tiefer sank,
Mit leisem Fingerschlag,
Der mir durch [Leib und Leben]3 drang,
[Mich]4 frohen Schlummrer wach;
Sah mich so wunderfreundlich an,
Und bot den Mund mir dar,
Daß ich es nicht beschreiben kann,
Wie froh, wie froh ich war.

Vaig somiar que era un ocellet
i volava a la seva falda
i, per no restar ociós, desfeia
el llaç del seu cosset.
I llavors, com un borinot, volava
a la seva blanca mà,
després, de nou, al xal del seu cosset
i picotejava el llaç vermell.

Més tard, surava damunt els seus cabells rossos
i refilava de plaer,
i quan estava cansat,
reposava al seu blanc pit.
Cap llit de violes al paradís
seria millor que aquest jaç.
Com m’adormia dolçament, tan dolçament,
damunt el crespó del seu pit!

Quan dormia més profundament,
ella jugava tamborinant els seus dits,
i això em penetrava al cos i l’ànima,
i alegrament em despertava;
ella em mirava amb una afabilitat meravellosa
i m’oferia els seus llavis,
no m’és possible descriure
que feliç, que feliç era jo.

Aleshores feia saltets amb una cama
i així em divertia,
i amb les meves petites ales jugava 
a refrescar-li les galtes vermelles.
