The version of the Spohr song as sung by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau has the following changes: stanza 3 is
Lausch dem Sang der Nachtigallen,
Der so wohltut meinem Sinn;
In's Gemüt will mir da fallen
Eine Wehmut, daß ich bin!
and in stanza 4, line 3, "muss" is "will" and in stanza 4, line 4, "Gottes" is "seine"

Zachtjes sluip ik in de avond
Naar het bosje van jasmijn,
Als de zoele briesjes lavend
Gaan door ’t groene bladgordijn.
Als de maan zich even later
Zilv’rig spiegelt in de vloed,
Klaat’rend kringelt daar het water,
Heel de schepping sluimert zoet.
Hoor het lied van Philomele,
O, wat doet mij dat toch goed,
Hoe vervult haar lieflijk kwelen
Met devotie mijn gemoed!
En dan zweeft mijn blik naar boven
Naar de sterren zonder tal;
Ja, mijn schepper moet ik loven,
Groots en mooi is Gods heelal!
Philomele: Grieks-mythologische naam voor nachtegaal.
Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau zingt in Spohrs versie als derde strofe een afwijkende tekst, door mij als volgt vertaald:
Luister naar de nachtegalen,
Hun gezang is mij genâ,
In mijn ziel voel ik dan dalen
Iets van weemoed dat ‘k besta!
