Toca encara una altra vegada, oh arpa, tu que tan sols fas sonar sentiments! Ves apagant el teu so, tendre i dolç, en un cant de cigne que en el flux de la vida ens reconciliï amb la fretura! A la llum del matí de la vida ressones pura i clara! Qui pot servar aquest so? A través de cerques i experiències s’extingeix i s’asseca la font pura del cant. Als darrers anys de jovenesa ja sones tendra i poruga, com el cant del pinsà al març; tremolen el cor i les cordes plenes d’amor i de cants! Als dies d’estiu de la vida emmudeix el toc de les cordes! De la nostra ànima plena d’anhels ens sedueix encara, com Filomela, ja més rarament però commovedora, solament melangia i sentiment. Oh, toca en els cors ombrívols a l’hora severa del vespre! Si la vida erma es vol entrellaçar amb la nit del destí, toca aleshores i desperta el nostre desig d’immortalitat!
