Elfenlied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  DUT
Ich tummle mich auf der Haide,
es ist bald Mitternacht;
Huschkätzchen, meine Freude,
es hüpft und flackert und lacht.

Es ziehet mich nach zu schweifen,
wo's flimmert und wo's glänzt,
und denk' ich's nun zu greifen,
dahin ist das holde Gespenst.

Ach soll ich's noch einmal wagen,
du holde, süße Fee;
ich bin fast matt vom Jagen,
ich bitte dich, Elfchen, steh!

Elfenlied
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Ik dartel rond op de heide,
Het is haast middernacht;
Jaagkatjes, leuke meiden,
Het hupt en flikkert en lacht.

Ik houd ervan, na te rakken
Waar ’t glinstert en waar ’t glimt,
En denk ik het te pakken,
Al weg is die aardige schim.

Ach, moet ‘k ’t nog eenmaal wagen,
O leuke lieve fee;
Ik ben doodmoe van ’t jagen,
Dus ren niet meer, elfje, nee!
