Come all'urto aggressor
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Available translation(s): ENG
Come all'urto aggressor d'un torrente
rovinosa alta mole cadente,
sotto al braccio del greco guerriero
tutto d'Asia l'impero cadrà.

Ma il valor, come belva feroce,
senza il senno a sé stesso pur nuoce:
sarò guida degli altri al furore,
e il mio vanto maggiore sarà.

Beneath the arms of Grecian warriors
Language: English  after the Italian (Italiano)
Beneath the arms of Grecian warriors
the Asiatic empire shall fall,
with the force of a pitiless seastorm
crashing upon a decrepit jetty.

But all this valor will be its own downfall
if, as the wild beasts exemplify,
it is not channeled with prudence.
I shall guide the others to wisely put their fury into action,
and I shall thereby have just cause to boast.
