Amb veneració, tot el meu ésser s’agenolla al seu davant,

Quan ara la teva brillantor m’inflami,
llavors sóc mereixedor de què em facis escarni!
Jo bec de la font de la pura Hipocrene,
que envolta el meu front amb entusiasme.

Oh, si aquest moment d’encís
el pogués gravar ferm i profundament a la meva ànima,
perquè alenés sempre al meu camí!

Però per poc que m’aparti tan sols una mica,
desapareix tota l’esplendor del meu esguard.
