Translation possibly by Georges de Dubor (1848 - 1931)

Douleur
Language: French (Français)  after the Old French (Ancien français)
Estendue emmy les fleurs
Que j’arrose de mes pleurs,
Je m’escrime et me lamente,
Hélas, malheureuse amante !

Ha, que je porte de traicts,
Que je souffre de regrets,
Et que la mort endormie
Se montre peu, mon amie,

Je l’invoque tous les jours
Car, en ce pénible cours,
Où la fortune m’élance,
La mort est mon espérance.

Mort, mon unique repos,
Mort, que je porte à mes os,
Chère mort que je désire
Pour le feu que je soupire.

Ô temps, mesnager des ans,
Fidèle ami des amants,
Viens adoucir mon servage,
Mon amant est trop volage.

Mais, hélas, il est trop tard
Car déjà mon âme part
De son escorte mondaine
Pour mettre fin à ma peine.
