by Friedrich Roeber (1819 - 1901)

Prolog
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich will Euch singen und sagen
von einem Mägdelein,
das Mägdelein hiess Schneewittchen,
war hold und fromm und rein.
will singen von eines Königs
holdseligem Töchterlein,
von guten Zwergen und bösem Weib,
von Angst und Höllenpein,
und wie Schneewittchen erlöset
von einem Königssohn,
der dann als holde Braut sie erhielt
zum herrlichsten Lohn.

So lasst euch singen und sagen
von diesem Mägdelein,
es soll das lieblich Märchen
von dem Schneewittchen sein.
