Oft hab' ich, leis' erbebend, schon geglaubt,
Wenn meine Blicke Dich nicht mehr gefunden,
Das Licht des Auges sei mir jäh geraubt.

Wohl glänzt die Welt in tausend Farben prächtig,
Wenn sie im heitern Strahl des Tages blinkt,
Doch farblos ist sie, wenn der Himmel nächtig,
