Mdle svítí luna dálavou, noc chvátá v náruč prázdným tmám, a pouští spráhlou v páru jdou dva láskou hnáni k námluvám. Jí mládí máj zář krás všech přál a ohněm žhoucí tváře; kol vábných štíhlých vnad svůj stáčí s vášně chtivou touhou smrt hnát a dí: Jen slyš, jak smíchem svět ten zní, tím bláznů chechtem rázným; jak pláčem bolným svět ten zní, tak útěchy prázdným. To mísí se a stoupá výš ve hrůzné dissonanci, já však tě vzývám, krásko má, jen k laškovnému tanci...
