Ewige Liebe

Eternal love
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Love, when thy soul leaves its earthly shrine, call me, and I shall hear thee! My spirit shall be linked with thine, always I shall be near thee! E'en if a thousand years thou sleep under the cold earth lying, be not afraid, vigil I'll keep, Sweetheart, I'll stay thy sighing! And shouldst thou change thy form and face and wander thus for ever, I'll follow thee from place to place, my soul from thine thou canst not sever! And if in haste thou wing thy flight through all the stars above thee, I find thee! I'll hold thee close in rapt delight and tell thee how much I love thee! I'll worship thee, and thy glance of love I ne'er shall forget, ah, never! E'en in the realms of light above thou'rt mine, thou'rt mine for ever!
From the Scharwenka score.
