from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Ulica širokaja
Language: Russian (Русский)
Ulica širokaja,
Travka-muravka zelenen'kaja.
Znat'-to, mne po uličke ne chaživati,
Travku-muravku ne taptyvati,
Na svoju ljubeznuju ne gljadyvati.
Von moja ljubezna pod okošečkom sidit,
Pod oknom sidit, takuju reč' govorit:
Mal'čik ty, mal'čik moloden'kij,
Udalaja golovuška tvoja!
Ne sadisja ty vozle menja,
Vozle menja, krasnoj devicy-duši,
Vozle oteckoj dočeri!
Grozen, grozen batjuška,
Groznej togo matuška:
Ne puskajut na ulicu guljat',
Pustjat – ne pustjat pri večere,
Pri večere, pri večernej pri zare,
A ja, molodešen'ka, dogadliva byla,
Prjaločku vzjala, na posideločku pošla:
Kury vspeli, – domoj nejdu,
Drugie vspeli, - ne dumaju idti,
Tret'i vspeli, - zarja vzošla,
Zarja vzošla, ja domoj pošla.
