from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

O soeten tijt nae droeven daghen!
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
O soeten tijt nae droeven daghen!
De son verlichtet over al;
De leste duistere swerken jaghen
De droefheit over berch ende dal.
Hoe is de helle werelt verblijt!
O soeten tijt!

Der vreuchden sparken sijn ghedronghen
Diep in den kele der bloemekijn:
Mijn hert is als de bloem ontspronghen
Ooc heden aen der sonnen schijn.
Hoe sweift mijn moet in weelden wijt!
O soeten tijt!

Note: Hoffmann von Fallersleben collected this and many other Flemish poems and published them in three volumes titled Horae Belgicae
