On ne pyšnyj, on ne novyj, On brevenčatyj — dubovyj! Ach, v tom tereme prostom Est' s raskrašennym oknom Razubrannaja svetlica! V nej živet duša-devica. Kak-to vstretilsja ja s nej — Ne svožu s tech por očej; Krasna ž devica ne znaet, Po kom grud' moja vzdychaet. Razryvajsja, grud' moja! Budu suženym ne ja — Tot bogatyj, ja bez chaty — Celyj mir moi palaty! Veščun-serdce govorit: «Žit' tebe, detinke, žit' Ne s ženoju molodoju — S čužoj-dal'nej storonoju…»
