by Mikhail Yur'yevich Lermontov (1814 - 1841)

Dva sokola
Language: Russian (Русский)
Step', sineja, rasstilalas'
Bliz Azovskich beregov.
Zapad gas, i noč' spuskalas';
Vichr' skol'zil meždu cholmov.
I, trjachnuvšis', v pole dikom
Seryj sokol ticho sel,
I k nemu s otvetnym krikom
Brat streloju priletel.
«Bratec, bratec, čto ty videl?
Rasskaži mne poskorej».
— «Ach, ja svet voznenavidel
I bezžalostnych ljudej».
— «Čto ž ty videl tam chudogo?»
— «Kuču kamennych serdec:
Deve smech toska milógo,
Dlja detej tiran otec.
Devy mukoj slez pravdivych
Veseljatsja, kak igroj,
I u nog samoljubivych
Gibnut junoši tolpoj!..
Bratec, bratec! ty čto ž videl?
Rasskaži mne poskorej!»
— «Svet i ja voznenavidel
I izmenčivych ljudej.
Nošeju obmanov skrytych
Junost' tam udručena,
Vspominanij jadovitych
Starost' mračnaja polna.
Gordost', ver' ty mne, prekrasnoj
Zabyvaetsja poroj,
No izmena devy strastnoj —
Nož dlja serdca vekovoj!..»
