Jakby moï dumy nimiï
na struny prorečysti vpaly,
zajšlys' by plačem moï struny
i smichom dytjačym zahraly.

Mov chvylja mors'ka v jasnu burju
i temna, j blyskuča, j raptova,
i soncevi ridna, j bezodni
bula b moja pisnja bez slova.

Važki poberežniï skeli
zryva peremožneje more;
nevže peremožnaja pisnja
važkoho žalju ne pobore?

Nevže moja pisnja ne chvylja?
Oj lele! Daremni pytannja…
Nimi moï dumy, a ruky
dajut' lyš nimiï styskannja…
