by Charles-Marie-René Leconte de Lisle (1818 - 1894)

Les belles filles aux pressoirs
Language: French (Français)
Les belles filles aux pressoirs
Portent sur leur tête qui ploie,
À pleins paniers, les raisins noirs ;
Les jeunes hommes sont en joie.
Ils font jaillir avec vigueur
Le vin nouveau des grappes mûres ;
Et les rires et les murmures
Et les chansons montent en chœur.

Ivres de subtiles fumées,
Les vendangeurs aux cheveux blancs
Dansent avec des pieds tremblants
Autour des cuves parfumées ;
Et non loin, cherchant un lit frais,
Éros, qui fait nos destinées,
À l'ombre des arbres épais
Devance les lents Hyménées.
