by Paul Heyse (1830 - 1914)

Morgenwind
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wenn noch kaum die Hähne krähen,
Macht sich auf der Morgenwind,
Feget aus mit starkem Wehen
Stadt und Flur und Wald geschwind.

Allen Bäumen in der Runde
Schüttelt er die Locken aus,
Wect die Blümlein in dem Grunde,
Lockt die Lerch' ins Thal hinaus.

Nebel, die an Bergen hangen,
Jagt er ohne Gnade fort;
Kommt Frau Sonne dann gegangen,
Find't sie sauber jeden Ort.

Will sie bei dem treuen Winde
Sich bedanken in Person,
Ist er daß ihn Keiner finde,
Über alle Berge schon.

Confirmed with Gesammelte Werke von Paul Heyse. Erster Band. Gedichte, Berlin, Verlag von Wilhelm Hertz, 1872, pages 3-4.
