Ne dovho… Ta j pidu ja v schovyšče svjate…
Rik, dva myne, moja nima mohyla
Travoju husto zaroste.

Mohyla taja bude v poli,
Nad neju voseny, oravšy, projde pluh;
Kolys' zrostut' tam harni dvi topoli,
A dali, može, j cilyj luh.

I jak z topoleju hustoju vitrec',
Žartujučy, tychen'ko zašumyt',
Tudy u večeri veseloju vesnoju
Divčyna z mylym prybižyt'…

Obnjavšys', sjadut' pid topolju,
Jakraz meni na mertvu čulu hrud'…
Todi, ljubujučys' vesnoju i soboju,
Vony i šum lystjačky pojmut'.
