Der aß ganz ungewöhnlich viel,
Drum ward er täglich dicker.

Jedoch dem Herrn von Bombardil 
Dies Dickerwerden sehr gefiel:
Er ward mit Freuden dicker.

Einst sprach der Arzt:"Herr Bombardil,
Sie dürfen wirklich nicht mehr viel
Noch fürder werden dicker."

Da lachte Herr von Bombardil
Und aß nun grad noch mal so viel:
"Ich werde doch noch dicker."

Da platzte Herr von Bombardil.
Und als er in die Grube fiel:
Die Maden wurden dicker.
