Nun ich singe, Gott ich kniee,
schlaf du Wunderwunderkind,
Jesulein nimm sonder Mühe,
was mein Geist dir angezünd't,
nimm den Wiegenthron von mir,
schlaf bei solchem, meine Zier.

Schlaf, mein Seelchen, ich will holen
Tulpen, Nelken, Amarinth,
Tausendschönchen, Feldviolen,
schlaf du wertes Menschenkind,
allerliebstes Jesulein,
schlaf bei solchen Blumen ein.

Schlaf mein Loorbeer, schlaf mein Röschen,
schlaf mein grüner Rosmarin,
schlaf in meinem sanften Schösschen,
schlaf mein schimmrender Jasmin,
schlaf mein süßer Hyacinth,
schlaf du zarter Jungfraun Kind.

Schlaf, du Perle, schlaf mein Zaphir,
schlaf du günstiger Rubin,
schlaf mein Demant, schlaf mein Sardis,
schlaf mein heller Chrysolin,
schlaf mein Herzcarfunkelstein,
schlaf, mein Amethistchen, ein.

Schlaf mein Nectar, schlaf mein Leben,
schlaf mein süßer Alicant,
schlaf du grüner Lebensreben,

und mit grünem Majoran
bei der Ruhe dich vergnügen,

Canción de cuna de la hija de Sión
Language: Spanish (Español)  after the German (Deutsch)
Ahora que canto, Dios, me arrodillo;
duerme, maravilloso, maravilloso niño
Jesusito, tú que tomas sin esfuerzo
lo que mi espíritu te ha revelado;
acepta mi trono como cuna,
y duerme en él, mi tesoro.

Duerme, mi pequeña alma, iré a recoger
tulipanes, claveles, amaranto,
margaritas, violetas silvestres;
duerme, valioso Hijo del hombre,
amadísimo Jesusito,
duerme con estas flores.

Duerme, mi laurel, duerme, mi rosita,
duerme, mi verde romero,
duerme en mi suave regazo,
duerme, mi fúlgido jazmín,
duerme, mi dulce jacinto,
duerme tú, tierno hijo de virgen.

Duerme, perla, duerme, mi zafiro,
duerme, benévolo rubín,
duerme, mi diamante, duerme, mi Sardes1,
duerme, mi claro crisólito,
duerme, rubí de mi corazón,
duérmete, mi pequeña amatista.

Duerme, mi néctar, duerme, mi vida,
duerme, mi dulce ambrosía,
duerme, verde viña que da vida,
duerme en las manos de los hombres,
duerme en paz, mi dulce niño,
cierra tus bellísimos ojos.

Duerme, quiero mecerte suavemente,
y con verde mejorana
complacerte en tu descanso;
duerme con la chirimía del pastor,
Salvador de la tierra, trono de clemencia,
duerme, Señor Jesús, Hijo de Dios.
