O Zeus, Father, Wise God
Language: English  after the Greek (Ελληνικά)
Menelaus
O Zeus, Father, Wise God,
Look down upon us and drive away our woes.
Difficult circumstances pull us toward misfortunes,
Urging us to embrace them eagerly: and even if you touch the edge with your hand,
We will approach, desiring the turn of fate.
Release the weight of the burdens we bore.
Call upon me, gods, many uses await me
And grant me joy, for I must not do evil,
But to walk the right path with steady steps: if you grant me this one grace,
You shall make the rest of my life blessed.
