Die Musik
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Ach, mit zauberischem Munde
Klärt Musik das wirre Leben,
Lässt auf rätselhaftem Grunde
Uns sein wahres Bild erbeben.

Vor dem Tor der Ewigkeiten
Zieht sie aufgelöst den Riegel.
Überm bunten Traum der Zeiten
Gleiten wir auf ihrem Spiegel.

Aus dem Wahn, aus der Bedrückung
Hebt sie uns mit offner Schwinge
Hoch in zitternder Beglückung
Zum Geheimnis aller Dinge.

Confirmed with Emanuel von Bodman, Früher Mond. Gedichte, herausgegeben von Walter Rügert, Frauenfeld Stuttgart Wien: Verlag Huber, 2002, page 61.

Music
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Ah, with enchanting lips
Music untangles our confused life,
Upon the enigmatic base it lets
[Life's] true image tremble for us.

Before the gateway to eternities
Dissolving, [music] undoes the latch.
And over the colourful dream of the times
We glide upon her mirror.

From out of madness, out of oppression
She lifts us with outspread pinions
High in trembling delight
To the secret of all things.
