Im Frühling

Es ist mein Herz verwelkt, versumpft, 
bedeckt mit Schilf und eingeschrumpft, 
kaum findet Platz ein finstrer Traum; 
es ächzt der Schmerz im engen Raum. 
Da kommt der Lenz, die Lüfte lau, 
die Wälder grün, der Himmel blau !
Die ganze Welt ein Blumenstrauß, 
es dehnt die Brust sich mächtig aus !
Die Welt so schön, das Herz so weit, 
steig in mein Herz Weltherrlichkeit !
